On April 27, consumers in multiple regions reported that when placing orders on Meituan's Ele.me Supermarket, the self-pickup service option was unavailable, with a pop-up notification indicating that corresponding stations were undergoing service upgrades.
An adjustment notice from Ele.me Supermarket stated, "Ele.me Supermarket will soon undergo service upgrades. Starting April 27, pickup services at this station are suspended. You can continue to receive your orders via delivery. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and are committed to improving every delivery experience."
In response, Ele.me Supermarket customer service explained that pickup services are currently suspended due to service upgrades. "To optimize the delivery service experience and enhance logistics efficiency, the platform has fully upgraded its delivery system. From now on, we will concentrate resources to provide faster and more stable delivery services, hence the suspension of pickup point services. We recommend trying our delivery service for a more convenient experience."
When asked about the timeline for resuming pickup services and the specific cities affected, Ele.me Supermarket customer service stated, "There is no specific resumption time at the moment. Conditions vary by city, and adjustments are made based on each city's characteristics."
