Deep News01-26

Starting today (26th), the 2026 Hainan Provincial Two Sessions officially commenced. In the morning, eight members of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) appeared at the first "Members' Channel" event. Among them, Mario Ho, son of Stanley Ho and born in 1995, attended the "Members' Channel" for the first time in his new capacity as a member of the Hainan Provincial CPPCC Committee, expressing strong confidence in the future development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.

As a young individual born in 1995, Mario Ho experienced and witnessed Macao's return to China and observed how Macao improved following its return. After graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2016, he chose to return to mainland China to start his own business. Just before the 25th anniversary of Macao's return to China, in December 2024, the CCTV program "Face to Face" interviewed Mario Ho in Macao. He stated: "From birth to growth, I understood Macao's return; later, through schooling, the integration of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao became deeper; and then through my own work and entrepreneurship, this integration has become a significant advantage. Now, it is time for us to contribute."

Public reports indicate that in January 2023, Mario Ho served as a member of the Hubei Provincial CPPCC Committee, belonging to the "Communist Youth League and Youth Federation" sector. Regarding his new role in Hainan, Nanhai Network disclosed that according to the list of members of the 8th Hainan Provincial CPPCC Committee published in January 2026, Mario Ho belongs to the "Chinese Communist Youth League and Youth Federation" sector.

During the "Members' Channel" event, a CCTV reporter asked Mario Ho: As a provincial CPPCC member, how do you think the synergistic development between the Hainan Free Trade Port and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area should be strengthened? Mario Ho, member of the Hainan Provincial CPPCC Committee, Chairman and CEO of NIP Group Inc., and co-owner of the NBA's Boston Celtics, said: "On October 15, 2025, I participated in the Hainan Free Trade Port Industrial Development Opportunities and Tourism Resources Promotion Conference held in Macao. Through this conference, I learned about many preferential policies for Hainan after its customs closure and made up my mind."

On December 18 of the same year, the historic moment when the customs closure of the entire Hainan Island was initiated, Huán Jù Business Management, under NIP Group Inc., also completed its entry and listing on the same day. This signifies that the layout in Hainan has entered the operational phase, actively building the Weilan Power Sports and Leisure Resort project in Sanya's Haitang Bay, which integrates e-sports, traditional sports, trends, and music.

"At the same time, we are also actively planning to introduce music festivals, e-sports events, and international exchanges on basketball culture in Sanya in the future, helping Sanya build itself into the core area of an international tourism consumption center," Mario Ho stated. Choosing Hainan means choosing opportunities; investing in Hainan means investing in the future. "As a member of the Hainan Provincial CPPCC Committee and a young person from Hong Kong and Macao, I am full of confidence in the future development of the Hainan Free Trade Port."

In an interview with a reporter from the Hainan Provincial Integrated Media Center, Mario Ho said: "Investing in Hainan is investing in the future. I hope entrepreneurs from the Greater Bay Area, like me, do not miss out on Hainan."
