HK Stock Movement | CATL (03750) Rises Over 4% After Securing Another 4GWh Energy Storage Order; Indonesia Plant Capacity Expandable to Over 15GWh

Stock News12-11

CATL (03750) surged more than 4%, and as of press time, it was up 2.93% to HKD 513, with a trading volume of HKD 603 million.

According to market reports, CATL recently signed a framework supply agreement with Singapore-based renewable energy developer Vena Energy to provide its Indonesian subsidiary with a 4GWh EnerX battery energy storage system solution. The system utilizes 530Ah high-capacity battery cells, with each 20-foot standard container offering a capacity of up to 5.6MWh.

This supply is part of a large-scale solar-plus-storage project in Indonesia's Riau Islands, which plans to build over 2GWp of photovoltaic power stations along with supporting energy storage facilities. The clean energy generated will eventually be exported to Singapore via submarine cables.

Previously, in July 2025, CATL had already secured a procurement agreement with Vanda RE (an affiliate of the Vena Group) for the first batch of 2.2GWh energy storage systems for this project.

Vena Energy's choice of CATL is also influenced by the latter's battery plant under construction in Indonesia, which has an initial annual capacity of 6.9GWh and can be expanded to over 15GWh. This regional manufacturing capability is expected to accelerate energy storage development in Southeast Asia.

Notably, Vena Energy, headquartered in Singapore, is a subsidiary of the Vena Group, a developer of green energy and digital infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific region.
