Qingdao Port Sets New Grain Terminal Unloading Record in 21 Hours

Deep News11-26

At 12:00 on November 26, Qingdao Port's Dongjiakou Port Area North 3 Grain Terminal achieved a new industry milestone. A fully automated grain unloader successfully discharged a vessel carrying 68,250 tons of wheat in just 21 hours, setting a new domestic record for grain terminal unloading efficiency.

As the largest grain unloading hub along the Yellow River basin and a critical grain transfer center in northern China, Qingdao Port has implemented an innovative single-vessel production responsibility mechanism. The port maximizes the potential of fully automated equipment, including bucket-equipped gantry cranes and unloaders, through digital integration of automatic control technologies and an intelligent management platform. This enables automated operations across five key processes: shore equipment, truck loading, container operations, grain transportation, and warehouse cleaning.

Additionally, the port utilizes its "Smart Falcon" safety management system to establish a closed-loop monitoring mechanism, ensuring real-time safety control throughout operations. Intelligent optimization and precise decision-making guarantee seamless efficiency across the entire workflow.
