Stock News03-23 21:57

On Monday, the three major US stock indices opened higher collectively, with the Nasdaq Composite Index climbing 1.69%. Leading technology stocks saw widespread gains, with Tesla (TSLA.US) and Broadcom (AVGO.US) rising more than 3%, while Nvidia (NVDA.US), Amazon (AMZN.US), Apple (AAPL.US), and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSM.US) each advanced over 2%.

On the news front, on the 23rd local time, US President Donald Trump posted on a social media platform, stating, "The United States and Iran have had very good and productive conversations over the past two days." Trump mentioned that he had directed a halt to all military strikes against Iran's power plants and energy infrastructure for five days, contingent on the success of ongoing meetings and discussions.

In response, several "senior leadership" figures in Iran stated on March 23 local time that Trump's claim of ongoing negotiations with Iran was untrue. It was reported that the Iranian "senior leadership" clarified that there are no talks between Iran and the United States. The Iranian side asserted that Trump "withdrew" the attack due to the "decisive, powerful, and credible deterrent threat of retaliation" made by Iran's armed forces. Iran emphasized that its stance on the Strait of Hormuz remains unchanged and will not change.
