Quantgroup Holding Limited (Stock Code: 02685) has appointed Professor Xu Dong as chief scientist, with the role commencing on 13 March 2026. The appointment was announced voluntarily by the board of directors on 13 March 2026 in Hong Kong.

Prof. Xu will provide technical consulting and lead project development across the Group. He is currently a professor at the School of Computing and Data Science, The University of Hong Kong, and has previously held academic positions at Columbia University, Nanyang Technological University and The University of Sydney.

A recognised expert in computer vision, multimedia signal processing and machine learning, Prof. Xu is a fellow of the IEEE and IAPR, a foreign member of Academia Europaea and a senior associate editor of ACM Computing Surveys. He was listed as a Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher in 2018 and 2021, and has served on editorial boards and conference committees for leading journals and forums including T-PAMI, T-IP, ICCV and CVPR.

Prof. Xu holds a Bachelor of Engineering (2001) and a Doctoral degree (2005) from the University of Science and Technology of China. The board conveyed its warm welcome to Prof. Xu upon his appointment.
