Wu Xiaoqiu: AI's Primary Impact on Capital Markets Is Improving Asset Structure

Deep News17:01

On October 17, during the second "Commemorative Professor Hu Naiwu Education Fund" award ceremony and the CMF China Macroeconomic Summit Forum held today, Wu Xiaoqiu, Dean of the National Academy of Financial Research at Renmin University of China and a national first-class professor, told Sina Finance that AI can be used to better conduct capital market regulation, because AI can quickly capture clues of violations and illegal activities.

Wu Xiaoqiu believes that the impact of the AI era on society and the economy is comprehensive, and its impact on finance and capital markets is even more direct. For example, in the capital market, it will improve the asset structure. High-tech enterprises represented by AI, with chips as a representative, will gradually become the main listed companies in the market, and the proportion of assets from AI will become increasingly larger.

"In the past, people bought bank stocks, cement and real estate stocks, or traditional manufacturing stocks, but those were not assets with greater future growth potential," Wu Xiaoqiu pointed out. He noted that AI's primary impact on the capital market is improving the asset structure, enhancing growth momentum, and improving expectations. In addition, there are changes in trading mechanisms, enabling the collection of data, and through computing power and models, as well as past experience data, it is possible to grasp and find patterns. Using this set of tools for investment is richer than personal experience.

Therefore, AI quantitative trading is bound to emerge, but quantitative trading needs new rules. Rules suitable for it must be formulated, and rules that disrupt market order should not be created.
