Consumer Complaints Highlight Hygiene and Quality Issues at Mixue Ice Cream & Tea Outlets

Deep News03-12

As International Consumer Rights Day approaches, efforts are intensifying to boost consumer confidence and enhance collaborative governance in consumer protection, aiming to create a safer and more reliable consumption environment. In line with this, Sina Finance, in partnership with the Hei Mao Complaint platform, has launched a consumer rights campaign for 2026.

According to statistics from the Sina Hei Mao Complaint platform, Mixue Ice Cream & Tea received 177 valid complaints in the past 30 days, with a resolution rate of only 33%. Consumers frequently reported issues such as "poor store hygiene," "suspected spoiled products," and "foreign objects found in beverages."

As a beverage giant known for its extreme cost-effectiveness and strong presence in lower-tier markets, Mixue Ice Cream & Tea has built a powerful competitive edge with ultra-low prices like its 4-yuan ice cream and 6-yuan lemonade.

However, its extensive network comes with significant quality control challenges. Data from the Sina Hei Mao Complaint platform shows that, in the past 30 days, the brand received 177 valid complaints, yet only 33% were resolved. Consumer grievances mainly focus on core food safety issues, including unsatisfactory store hygiene, suspected product spoilage, and discoveries of foreign objects in drinks. This indicates that, under the dual pressures of strict cost control and extremely low retail prices, the brand faces considerable difficulties in overseeing daily operations and ensuring food safety across its vast number of franchise outlets.

Ensuring that food safety standards are not compromised and that consumer complaints are handled efficiently and effectively within such a large commercial network is crucial for maintaining the reputation of this widely recognized brand.
