Deep News08-20

On August 20, Bank Of Nanjing Co.,Ltd. (SSE: 601009) held its interim results briefing for fiscal year 2026. Discussing the retail segment, the business unit head noted that during the first half of the year, the bank's retail operations showed a strong overall upward trend, with core metrics improving across the board: retail value customers grew by more than 17%, while retail financial assets increased by 9.99%. Personal deposits rose by 12.69% with a 37 basis point reduction in deposit cost rates; personal loans edged up 2.72% with the non-performing loan ratio declining by 7 basis points. Retail operating income reached RMB 9.404 billion, up 23.03% year-on-year, with agency distribution fee income surging over 30% and retail profits increasing by RMB 721 million compared to the same period last year.

Looking ahead, the official stated that the bank will center its efforts on the value proposition of "customer-centricity, wealth as the core, and scenarios as the key," focusing on five key areas for future development.

The first priority is deepening integrated customer management. The bank will intensify public-private sector linkage for client acquisition, enhance private-to-private integration to upgrade client relationships, and manage the full lifecycle of customers to successfully conclude the three-year program aimed at doubling the value customer base.

The second area involves accelerating the wealth management transformation. This includes enriching the full-spectrum product supply system, strengthening asset allocation advisory capabilities, and continuously expanding retail financial assets. Concurrently, the bank will optimize its liability structure to steadily lower funding costs, achieving coordinated progress on both the asset and liability fronts.

The third focus is refining the personal loan disbursement strategy. In response to national policy directions, the bank will provide tailored products and services addressing residents' needs for housing improvement, consumer spending, and business turnover. It will also strengthen end-to-end risk controls to promote balanced growth in loan volume, pricing, risk, and efficiency.

The fourth priority is building a livelihood-oriented scenario ecosystem. By delving into key sectors such as consumer spending, cultural tourism, education, healthcare, and wellness, the bank aims to establish the "Xinfu Wanjia" financial services brand and continuously develop its retail service scenario ecosystem.

The fifth area is reinforcing digital and intelligent empowerment. Adopting a "human + digital intelligence" development model, the bank will accelerate the deployment of AI agents across multiple scenarios and upgrade its full-chain digital operations system, providing robust support for the high-quality transformation of its retail business.
