A delivery ceremony for the first batch of IGV mobile robots for PSA and Siasun was recently held at Tuas Port in Singapore. Under clear skies and beside calm waters, the new port mobile robots from Shenyang were arranged in orderly formations, reflecting a blend of authority and intelligence in the sunlight. Representatives from Singapore's PSA Group, along with officials from Shenyang-based Siasun Robot & Automation Co., Ltd., attended the event to mark this significant milestone.
This achievement is the result of nine years of deepening trust and collaboration. PSA is a world-leading container terminal operator. Since 2017, Siasun, headquartered in Shenyang, began its partnership with PSA by developing a prototype port mobile robot, laying the foundation for mutual technical trust. Throughout this strategic long-term partnership, cooperation has intensified. In 2023, Siasun completed its first large-scale delivery of port mobile robots to PSA, initiating a new phase of industrial collaboration. By 2024, Siasun's cumulative deliveries surpassed one hundred units, establishing the company as the largest supplier of mobile robots in the Port of Singapore. The deployment of Siasun's port mobile robots at Tuas Port has now reached nearly 200 units, doubling in number within just one year. This deployment of nearly 200 robots serves as strong evidence of international recognition for China's high-end intelligent logistics equipment at a global benchmark port. It also represents a major commercial success for both parties, jointly creating an "Asia-Pacific speed" for the continuous upgrading of port logistics.
As ultra-large container ships become mainstream in maritime transport, the handling efficiency of traditional ports is increasingly seen as a bottleneck in the global logistics chain. The port mobile robots independently developed and manufactured by Siasun are precisely the "agile giants" designed to meet this challenge. These robots, with a rated load capacity of up to 65 tons, achieve a balance between high payload and high precision: their positioning accuracy reaches ±5 cm, maximum operating speed is 7 meters per second, and braking distance is less than 13 meters. Their excellent adaptability allows them to individually carry 2x20-foot containers, 2x20-foot tank containers, 40-foot containers, or 45-foot containers, comprehensively meeting the diverse operational needs of ports and providing significant convenience and flexibility for customer operations. The newly delivered IGV (Intelligent Guided Vehicle) represents a comprehensive upgrade of Siasun's port mobile robot product. Building upon the advanced structure and technology of the original model, the Siasun team has deeply integrated artificial intelligence into the IGV's overall hardware and software architecture, achieving significant improvements in navigation methods, scenario adaptability, and intelligence levels. The IGV utilizes multi-sensor fusion technology for autonomous navigation, eliminating the need for fixed markers. Its path planning is flexible and variable, allowing for dynamic scheduling based on real-time production demands. Furthermore, the new generation IGV incorporates an intelligent fault diagnosis and predictive maintenance system. By continuously collecting equipment operational data and utilizing deep learning algorithms for pattern recognition and anomaly detection, combined with domain-specific large models for accurate fault risk prediction, the system achieves an operational maintenance upgrade from "real-time monitoring" to "proactive warning."
PSA and Siasun intend to use this delivery ceremony as a new starting point to further deepen their cooperative relationship. They plan to jointly explore more possibilities for smart port construction, combining mature robotic technology solutions from Shenyang with the advanced management needs of international ports to set new industry benchmarks. Meanwhile, the successful partnership between Siasun and PSA stands as another exemplary model of high-tech international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Looking ahead, the application scenarios for outdoor heavy-duty mobile robot technology, represented by Siasun's port robots, extend far beyond seaports. There exists substantial market demand and development potential for the automated transport of standardized goods on outdoor roads within various industrial parks, inland port areas, and large logistics hubs.
