Deep News01-16

An archive disclosed for the first time by the Peking University Archives reveals that during Yu Min's tenure as a teaching assistant at Peking University, his salary was 400 jin of millet per month.

In 1951, Yu Min was transferred to the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Later, to comply with national needs, he "changed careers" to develop the hydrogen bomb, subsequently working under a cloak of secrecy for 28 years.

It was not until 1988 that Yu Min's name was declassified. Seven years ago today, Yu Min passed away due to illness. We remember and pay tribute to his contributions.
