On the afternoon of March 20, Metax Integrated Circuits (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. inaugurated its Beijing AI Research Institute and Corporate Open Source Center. During the launch ceremony, Yang Jian, the company's co-founder, CTO, and chief software architect, outlined specific goals for its open-source ecosystem development.
Yang Jian stated that Metax aims to build an intelligent computing ecosystem similar to "Android," based on its self-developed MXMACA software stack. According to the plan, this ecosystem will eventually cover over 3 million AI application developers, connect with more than 1,000 independent software vendors (ISVs) in vertical sectors, establish deep collaborations with over 500 universities and research institutions, and form more than 50 strategic open-source alliances.
It is reported that, leveraging its full-stack GPU products and the MXMACA heterogeneous computing platform, Metax has achieved full-stack adaptation from underlying drivers to upper-level training and inference software. The platform is compatible with mainstream international technology frameworks, lowering the barrier for open-source adaptation.
