On October 28, Tan Hua, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China Gezhouba Group Company Limited (a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited), held discussions with Liao Zhiwei, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Yangtze River Water Resources Commission (YRWRC). The meeting focused on advancing the ecological conservation and high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, with in-depth exchanges on deepening cooperation in policy and information guidance, technical consultation and review, and project collaboration support. Both parties reached broad consensus.
During the talks, Liao Zhiwei welcomed Tan Hua and his delegation, expressing gratitude for Gezhouba Group's strong support in Yangtze River governance. He emphasized that under the principle of "prioritizing ecological protection and avoiding excessive development," the YRWRC is coordinating efforts to build a "safe, green, harmonious, and beautiful" Yangtze River, providing robust water conservancy support for regional socio-economic development.
Liao noted that Gezhouba Group is a "global leader" in water conservancy and hydropower construction, sharing a long-standing partnership with the YRWRC. Together, they have achieved remarkable milestones in national strategic projects such as the Three Gorges Dam and the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. He expressed hope for strengthened collaboration in ecological conservation, basin-wide governance, national water network construction, and major project implementation to further contribute to high-quality river management.
Tan Hua thanked the YRWRC for its trust and support, highlighting Gezhouba Group's deep-rooted expertise in water-related projects. The company is currently concentrating on its core competencies, integrating resources across the industrial chain, and enhancing its engineering, technological innovation, and brand influence.
Tan emphasized the shared vision between Gezhouba Group and the YRWRC, exemplified by their joint efforts in creating the world's largest clean energy corridor. He proposed leveraging strategic opportunities in Yangtze River conservation, economic belt development, and national water network construction to innovate cooperation models, establish regular communication mechanisms, and deepen practical collaboration in policy guidance, technical consultation, and project support.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the YRWRC's office, planning bureau, and Yangtze River Design Group, as well as senior executives from Gezhouba Group, including Deputy General Manager Li Xiangdong and Chief Engineer Guo Guangwen.
