JD.com's Tenth Tasting Event Lands in Qingdao, with Integrated Supply Chain Serving Over 300,000 Clients

Deep News07-08

The tenth installment of the JD.com Tasting Series was held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Qingdao on July 8th, bringing together representatives from JD Logistics, numerous entrepreneurs, partners, and consumers to savor the fresh, mellow flavor of Tsingtao Beer and enjoy a custom dinner at Shangri-La.

Driven by AI technology, the integrated supply chain services of JD LOGISTICS (ASX: 02618) have now served over 300,000 corporate clients. The company has upgraded its BBCC network model to achieve "one-warehouse entry, omni-channel fulfillment." As a technology and service enterprise built on a supply chain foundation, all of JD.com's (ASX: JD) business layouts revolve around its supply chain.

Integrated supply chain service is the core strength of JD Logistics. Unlike logistics firms offering single services, it provides end-to-end solutions for merchants, integrating warehousing, express and freight delivery, cold chain, on-demand delivery, and other value-added services into a seamless, efficient, and worry-free full-link system. This super supply chain capability with greater certainty ensures faster and more reliable delivery of quality products, enhancing the experience for both merchants and consumers.

The upgraded BBCC network model is an integrated supply chain solution JD Logistics offers to merchants grappling with multi-channel order fulfillment challenges. Its hallmark feature is "one-warehouse entry, omni-channel fulfillment," helping merchants consolidate scattered inventory into a single, dynamically managed stock pool.

The transformation of the BBCC network model, service upgrades, and the deployment of on-demand delivery front warehouses are all core elements of the continuous enhancement of the AI-driven integrated supply chain. This system is tailored to countless industries, placing goods closer to consumers to reduce handling frequency and distance. This ensures products reach users in optimal condition and with precise timing, ultimately lowering overall social logistics costs.

Taking a high-end brand as an example, it previously faced issues like low stock availability, poor delivery timeliness, and inaccurate stock preparation affecting sales conversion. By implementing JD Logistics' BBCC solution, its in-stock rate increased by 24.8%, the proportion of next-day delivery orders rose from 73% to 90%, and sales volume surged by 114%.

In recent years, as many companies expand overseas, JD.com is also accelerating its supply chain's global expansion. It is building out its warehouse, air freight, and express delivery networks worldwide, leveraging its deterministic super supply chain capability to help Chinese brands not only "go global" but also "establish a firm foothold."

Amid the explosive growth of the robotics industry, JD Services took the lead in launching robot maintenance services and has implemented its JoyRobocare service in several European countries, now becoming a leading provider of after-sales services for robots in the industry.

From the brewing of a fine wine to the timely delivery that enhances daily life, efficient and stable on-demand delivery support is indispensable. Taking the alcohol category as an example, the instant retail market is projected to surpass one trillion yuan by 2026. However, alongside rapid growth, challenges remain, including insufficient near-field supply density, difficult inventory management, inadequate nighttime delivery capacity, and stringent requirements for temperature control and damage prevention.

To address these pain points, JD On-Demand Delivery leverages its instant delivery capabilities and a brand-shared front warehouse solution integrating storage and distribution. This helps alcohol brands expand their instant retail business with a light-asset model, achieving efficient 30-minute-level fulfillment and enhancing both consumer experience and channel efficiency.

JD On-Demand Delivery currently covers 2,800 districts and counties across China, continuously helping brands deliver a wider variety of high-quality products to consumers more quickly.

At this tasting event, JD.com and Tsingtao Brewery jointly presented six classic brews, including the "Legend of a Generation," with tasting notes provided by a National-level Beer Tasting Committee member. Coinciding with the World Cup viewing season, JD On-Demand Delivery and Tsingtao Brewery launched a "Watch Games, Drink 1-Yuan Ice-Cold Beer" campaign. Consumers can log into the "On-Demand" channel on the JD APP or the JD Daojia APP, search for "1-Yuan Ice-Cold Beer" to access the event page for a chance to purchase Tsingtao Beer at the 1-yuan promotional price.

The two parties formally initiated the "Sparkling Lights Plan" cooperation, aiming to create a benchmark for instant retail in the alcohol sector. As a core channel partner for Tsingtao Brewery, JD.com leverages its supply chain advantages and mature digital operation capabilities to help Tsingtao achieve stable and sustained daily sales growth. Furthermore, through exclusive distribution, customization, and co-branding, they jointly create hit products.

In the first half of this year, sales of the flagship "0% Alcohol" series and the "0 Sugar, Light Burden" light dry series increased by 416% and 235% year-on-year, respectively. The "Centennial Series," an ultra-premium art collection beer, also achieved double-digit year-on-year sales growth.

Additionally, the "Wolf Pack" series of robots, independently developed by JD Logistics, made an appearance at the tasting event. With AI applications becoming a global focus, JD.com, leveraging its deeply embedded super supply chain and segmented scenarios, is building the world's largest physical world operation center. It has established a full-chain layout covering AI infrastructure, industrial depth, and user experience, spanning over 3,000 supply chain scenarios in retail, logistics, healthcare, and industry. It stands as one of the enterprises with the most AI application scenarios and the strongest industrial depth globally, driving AI from countless industries into millions of households.

Powered by the technological engines of the "Super Brain Large Model" and the "Wolf Pack Robots," JD Logistics previously announced plans to procure 3 million robots, 1 million unmanned vehicles, and 100,000 drones over the next five years. Currently, JD Logistics drones have opened over 100 domestic routes, and its Smart Wolf Warehouses have processed over 100 million outbound orders. This system continues to reshape the logistics experience for global users and merchants.

Since its launch in September 2025, the "JD.com Tasting Series" IP has innovatively connected hotels and alcohol brands, landing in ten cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Sanya, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Bozhou, Kunming, Suzhou, Chengdu, and Qingdao. While offering users a differentiated experience of "tasting fine wines and making friends," it has also become a vital platform for in-depth exchange and collaborative development among industry partners.
