Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has taken a significant step forward in its digital economy strategy. The regional Department of Commerce, along with seven other government bodies, has jointly released a new policy document titled "Guangxi's Policies and Measures for Fostering and Expanding 'AI + Consumption'". This initiative outlines a comprehensive blueprint comprising 20 distinct policy actions designed to chart a clear course for the development of the artificial intelligence consumer market across the entire region.

The newly issued measures are structured around five core pillars: enriching the supply of terminal products, expanding service application scenarios, cultivating new business formats and models, strengthening demonstration and promotion efforts, and optimizing the overall development environment. The primary objective of this collaborative policy push is to align with the guiding principles set forth by the central government's implementation opinions on accelerating "AI + Consumption" development. By doing so, Guangxi aims to seize the emerging opportunities presented by artificial intelligence and foster a deep, synergistic integration between AI technology and consumer activities.

In the realm of enriching the supply of AI-powered terminal products, the policy introduces four specific action items. These include boosting the availability of intelligent terminal devices, promoting consumer adoption of intelligent connected vehicles, cultivating a robust consumer market for intelligent robots, and leveraging dedicated launch platforms designed for AI-driven consumer goods. These initiatives are intended to create a more dynamic and accessible marketplace for cutting-edge technology products.

Regarding the expansion of service scenarios, the measures concentrate on five key living areas: home, elderly care, cultural tourism, hospitality and dining, and education. The proposed actions aim to merge smart home technology with the construction of quality housing, accelerate the deployment of intelligent solutions for senior citizen care, create immersive "AI + cultural tourism" experiences, advance the development of smart restaurants and hotels, and empower the educational sector with AI-driven teaching and learning tools.

To foster new business formats and models, the policy focuses on the modernization of commercial districts, upgrading e-commerce platforms, and enhancing smart logistics. Three specific measures have been outlined to drive this forward: initiating intelligent upgrades for shopping districts and pedestrian streets, developing new e-commerce business models powered by AI, and promoting the widespread use of smart logistics and unmanned delivery systems.

In its efforts to strengthen demonstration and promotion, Guangxi has formulated a further five measures. These are centered on establishing specialized "AI + Consumption" clusters, creating benchmark scenarios and typical case studies, offering increased support for these flagship projects, hosting promotional consumption events themed around artificial intelligence, and deepening collaborative AI consumption initiatives with ASEAN member states.

Finally, to optimize the development environment, the policy outlines three crucial safeguard measures. These are designed to provide multi-dimensional support by increasing fiscal investment and financial backing, reinforcing the foundational infrastructure required for AI integration, including computing power and talent development, and strengthening the security framework to ensure the safe and reliable deployment of AI technologies in the consumer sector. With this comprehensive set of 20 "hardcore" measures, spanning everything from smart devices to intelligent scenarios, and from international outreach to security protocols, Guangxi is positioning itself as a leading highland for AI-driven consumption development, with a particular focus on the ASEAN market.
