Newborn Town Inc. announced the cancellation of 2.66 million shares repurchased on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange between 2 July and 24 July 2026. The shares were formally cancelled on 30 July 2026, reducing the company’s outstanding share count from 1.403 billion to 1.400 billion.
The buyback fell under a general mandate approved at the 2026 AGM, which authorises the board to repurchase up to 141.30 million shares, or 10% of the company’s then-issued share capital. During the July trading window, Newborn Town spent approximately HKD 23.50 million (excluding transaction costs) to acquire the 2.66 million shares.
Following the cancellation, the company confirmed that its public float continues to satisfy the Hong Kong Listing Rules. The board believes the reduction in share capital should enhance net asset value per share and earnings per share. Future repurchases will depend on market conditions and remain at the board’s discretion, subject to the existing mandate and relevant regulatory requirements.
