Beijing Yizhuang Aims for On-Demand AI Computing Power Like Water and Electricity

Beijing Yizhuang is advancing plans to make artificial intelligence computing power as accessible and convenient as water and electricity, with a 100,000P intelligent computing cluster and a token factory at the core of this vision.

If data is the oil of the new era, then computing power is the refinery that processes it. In Yizhuang, this "refinery" is expanding at an unprecedented pace. By 2030, the intelligent computing scale in Yizhuang will reach 100,000P. To put this in perspective, Yizhuang currently operates 5,000P of high-performance intelligent computing power, making it the largest and most advanced public AI computing platform in Beijing and the country. A 100,000P scale represents a 20-fold increase from current levels, while just 30,000P can support the parallel training of over a thousand large models.

However, Yizhuang's goal extends beyond simply building more capacity; it aims to ensure effective utilization. The focus is on making computing power available on-demand. Yizhuang is strengthening technical breakthroughs in cloud-edge-device coordination, consolidating the computing infrastructure chain, including full-machine and cluster optimization. In simple terms, this means that whether a company needs ultra-strong cloud computing power or low-latency edge computing, it can find it in Yizhuang.

Data must flow smoothly. Yizhuang is actively laying out a full data industry chain, producing high-quality, multi-modal datasets, building infrastructure for trusted data circulation and governance, and accelerating the construction of a national comprehensive data element pilot zone.

Tokens must be monetized, which represents Yizhuang's most cutting-edge exploration. Yizhuang is pioneering a full-chain system for token production, circulation, billing, and settlement. The city's first token factory, the Beijing No. 1 Token Factory, has been established in Yizhuang. Looking ahead, the plan is to build infrastructure with end-to-end task delivery capabilities, offering a capability matrix for intelligent project decomposition, multi-agent collaboration, result integration, and profit-sharing billing. Kong Lei, Party Secretary of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, describes Yizhuang's vision as enabling more atomic innovation entities to collaborate and grow together on intelligent infrastructure.

To make computing power affordable for businesses, Yizhuang allocates 100 million yuan each year for data vouchers, computing vouchers, and model vouchers. There are plans to further increase support for artificial intelligence and the intelligent economy. From public intelligent computing platforms to commercial computing clusters, Yizhuang is building a diversified supply system to provide widespread, low-cost computing services. In the future, computing power in Yizhuang will no longer be a scarce resource but will be like water and electricity: plug in and use, pay for what you consume, and access it on-demand affordably and effectively.
