Deep News12-12 09:51

On December 9, the Weizhou Oilfield Associated Gas Utilization Land Pipeline Project successfully commenced gas supply as operators opened the outlet valve at the terminal station. This marks the full completion and official operation of the long-distance land pipeline project.

The pipeline spans approximately 16.37 kilometers with a design pressure of 6.3 MPa and an annual transmission capacity of 2.16 billion cubic meters. The project transforms previously flared associated gas into a valuable resource, representing a successful practice by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) in balancing marine resource development with ecological protection.

To ensure efficient project completion, the Gas & Power Group formed a youth task force, establishing coordination mechanisms, implementing plans, addressing challenges, and optimizing solutions to overcome pipeline construction difficulties and complex obstacles.

Following the gas supply commencement, high-quality natural gas from the Weizhou Oilfield cluster will be continuously delivered to Beihai City and surrounding economic zones. This not only meets industrial users' stable gas demand but also enhances upstream production efficiency. The project optimizes Beihai's energy structure, promotes industrial upgrading, and supports the establishment of a diversified energy security framework integrating offshore gas, LNG, and land pipelines. It holds significant implications for improving local livelihoods and advancing high-quality industrial development in Beihai.
