HUTCHMED (00013) has announced the intended retirement of Independent Non-Executive Director, Professor Mok Shu Kam, Tony, after the conclusion of the Company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 12, 2026. Professor Mok, who has served on the Board for more than eight years, will step down to address the nine-year cap on tenure for independent non-executive directors under Hong Kong Listing Rules. Upon his retirement, he will also relinquish his roles as chairman and member of the Board committees.
The announcement details further changes effective from the end of the AGM, subject to the respective Directors’ re-election by shareholders. Dr. Renu Bhatia will be appointed as Senior and Lead Independent Non-Executive Director and will chair the Nomination Committee. Dr. Chaohong Hu will serve as the new chairman of the Technical Committee, and Professor Tan Shao Weng, Daniel will become a member of the Sustainability Committee. The Chairman of HUTCHMED, Dr. Dan Eldar, expressed appreciation for Professor Mok’s contributions and leadership in guiding the Company’s scientific and clinical development programs, highlighting his internationally recognized expertise in oncology.
