Stock News06-24

The AI and robotics leader, GEEKPLUS-W (02590), has recently received multiple positive developments. On June 18th, the company was officially included in the Hang Seng Artificial Intelligence Theme Index, becoming a core constituent stock representing the "robotics" segment.

Furthermore, on June 22nd, the company initiated a share buyback program. This move, coupled with prior commitments from major shareholders not to reduce their holdings, demonstrates the company's multi-faceted confidence in its fundamentals and signals its long-term value to the market.

On June 22nd, the company announced its first share repurchase plan since listing, proposing to buy back up to HK$2 billion worth of H-shares in the open market over the next 24 months. The repurchase volume will not exceed 10% of the total issued shares, a concrete action showcasing management's firm belief in the company's long-term value.

Prior to the announcement of the buyback plan, major shareholders had already clearly stated they are in no rush to reduce their holdings at this stage. They unanimously express optimism regarding the structural growth opportunities in the global smart logistics market and recognize the company's leading position in the AMR sector, its technological barriers, and the vast potential for embodied AI commercialization.

It is noteworthy that on June 18th, GEEKPLUS-W was formally added to the Hang Seng Artificial Intelligence Theme Index (HSAIT.HI). This index, launched by Hang Seng Indexes Company in September 2023, serves as a core benchmark measuring the performance of listed companies across the entire AI industry chain in Hong Kong. It currently selects only 71 constituent stocks, covering key segments such as computing chips, large language models, robotics, autonomous driving, and AI applications, indicating its high selectivity and prestige.

Inclusion in a Hang Seng index series signifies an official endorsement from a Hong Kong authoritative index institution. This is not only a high recognition of the company's industry standing and technological strength but is also expected to lead to regular allocations from both active and passive funds tracking the AI theme, providing strong support for medium to long-term capital flows.
