China Aluminum Cans Holdings reported interim revenue of HK$154.09 million for the six months ended 30 June 2026, up 31.0% year-on-year, driven by robust domestic orders that lifted PRC sales 32.4% to HK$139.90 million and kept mainland China at 90.8% of total turnover.
Gross profit rose 25.5% to HK$37.80 million, though gross margin contracted 1.1 percentage points to 24.5% as higher aluminium and other raw-material costs outpaced selling price increases. Cost of sales advanced 32.9% to HK$116.28 million, representing 75.5% of turnover versus 74.4% a year earlier.
Net profit expanded 39.1% to HK$19.76 million, pushing net margin to 12.8% from 12.1%. Other income and gains increased 17.0% to HK$6.10 million, helped mainly by higher scrap-material sales. Operating expenses grew faster than revenue—selling and distribution costs +46.8% to HK$2.44 million and administrative expenses +10.2% to HK$10.77 million—reflecting headcount and marketing expansion.
The balance sheet remained debt-free. Cash and cash equivalents stood at HK$49.76 million (31 December 2025: HK$46.58 million), and the current ratio improved to 5.0× from 4.3×. Net current assets reached HK$122.68 million, while unutilised banking facilities totalled HK$99.50 million. With no bank borrowings, the gearing ratio stayed negative at –13.9%.
Capital expenditure remained modest; new plant and machinery commitments were HK$0.29 million. Available but unused IPO proceeds earmarked for R&D laboratory construction totalled HK$8.70 million, now expected to be deployed by 31 December 2026.
The board declared an interim dividend of HK0.20 cent per share (2025 interim: HK0.15 cent), payable on or around 28 October 2026 to shareholders on record as of 9 September 2026.
Post-period, the company repurchased 22.65 million shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in July 2026 for HK$19.92 million at prices between HK$0.84 and HK$0.93, citing a valuation discount relative to intrinsic value.
Convertible notes with an outstanding principal of HK$126.08 million remain convertible at HK$0.55 per share until extended maturity on 20 May 2030; full conversion would add 229.23 million shares, equivalent to 24.28% of current issued capital, while keeping public float above regulatory thresholds.
Management highlighted ongoing strategies to bolster R&D, deepen key-customer collaboration, and upgrade production efficiency to counter raw-material inflation and industry overcapacity. No material acquisitions, disposals, or contingent liabilities were reported during the period.
