STMicroelectronics NV revised its revenue target for its data center business upward on Tuesday, citing sustained robust demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure and progress in expanding production capacity.
The company stated it now anticipates its data center business revenue will reach approximately $1 billion in 2026, compared to a prior forecast of "significantly exceeding" $500 million.
STMicroelectronics noted in a statement, "Assuming the current growth momentum continues and our current business progresses smoothly, revenue has the potential to double by 2027." The company had previously set a revenue target for next year of "significantly exceeding $1 billion."
The company's investment focus within the data center sector is not on the graphics processing units used to train AI models, but rather on the surrounding infrastructure required to power and manage these processors.
The firm indicated that the higher revenue target also reflects advancements in increasing factory production capacity.
