At the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2026, held from March 24 to 27 in Boao, Hainan, Qiu Han, Senior Vice President of PayPal and CEO of its China operations, participated in a forum session titled "Entering the AI Era: Seizing Opportunities to Create the Future."
Qiu Han remarked that in this new era, AI has become a universal capability, and she advised young people to broaden their general knowledge. As AI significantly lowers the barriers to entry in many specialized fields, the ability to judge whether the answers provided by AI are correct has emerged as a crucial new skill. She emphasized that humans must retain critical thinking skills to evaluate the truthfulness of the information they receive.
She further stated that she uses almost all the major AI models available on the market, often pitting two different AIs against each other to compare their outputs. Qiu Han noted that AI hallucinations remain a persistent issue to this day. Particularly in areas she is familiar with, she frequently encounters instances where AI generates nonsensical or incorrect information but presents it with convincing authority. Without deep expertise in the subject, individuals could easily be misled. Therefore, while young people should leverage these powerful tools, they must also learn to control and master them effectively.
