Wuliangye's Classic Eighth-Generation Drops 2 Yuan as Price Board Edges Lower Again

Deep News09:30

Data collected over the past 24 hours shows that on September 24, among the 12 major baijiu products tracked, terminal retail average prices saw five gains and seven declines, with declining products holding a numerical edge, though the cumulative drop only slightly exceeded the upside.

On the winning side, Feitian Moutai rose 2 yuan to 1,808 yuan, marking a six-session winning streak with steady gains, holding above the 1,800 yuan threshold for five consecutive days and setting a near one-month high. Premium Moutai climbed 4 yuan to 2,463 yuan, ending a three-session losing streak with a moderate price recovery. Qinghua Fen 20 advanced 4 yuan to 402 yuan, rising for a fourth straight session, reclaiming the 400 yuan round-number level and hitting a near one-month peak. Yanghe Dream Blue M6+ edged up 2 yuan to 618 yuan, extending gains after a period of consolidation. Qinghua Lang rose 4 yuan to 677 yuan, snapping a two-session decline, though whether it can sustain a rebound from its recent trough remains to be seen.

On the downside, Moutai 1935 slipped 1 yuan to 684 yuan, continuing its narrow high-level oscillation. Wuliangye Yibin Co.,Ltd.'s Classic Eighth-Generation dropped 2 yuan to 803 yuan, with the price board dipping again after repeated tussles around the 800 yuan mark. Wuliangye 1618 fell 1 yuan to 829 yuan, showing slight volatility after holding steady the prior day. Guojiao 1573 tumbled 7 yuan to 880 yuan, stalling its previous two-session rally and clearly shifting its short-term price center lower. Gujing Gong Gu 20 decreased 2 yuan to 520 yuan, declining for a second straight day as earlier rebound momentum weakened. Xijiu Junpin dropped 5 yuan to 635 yuan, pulling back quickly after an intraday spike. Shuijing Jiannanchun eased 1 yuan, retreating modestly from recent highs while maintaining its position around the 410 yuan level.

The combined terminal retail value of all 12 products ended a four-day winning streak today. Although declining products outnumbered gainers, the cumulative magnitude on both sides was tightly matched, leaving the overall price board with only a slight dip. If one bottle of each product were bundled and sold together, the total price today would be 10,729 yuan, a modest 3 yuan decline from yesterday while still firmly above the 10,700 yuan round-number threshold.

Daily data is sourced from roughly 200 collection points distributed across major regions nationwide, including designated distributors, social distributors, e-commerce platforms, and retail outlets. Raw sampling data reflects actual terminal retail transaction prices processed at each point over the past 24 hours, aiming to provide an objective, scientific, and fully traceable dataset on market prices for major baijiu products. With the official i-Moutai platform launching sales of Feitian Moutai at 1,499 yuan per bottle during the New Year period (raised to 1,539 yuan on March 31 and further to 1,639 yuan on July 18), along with Premium Moutai at 2,299 yuan per bottle starting January 9 (raised to 2,359 yuan on May 16), the magnetic pull of this new sales channel on the terminal average prices of both products is becoming increasingly evident. Daily prices reflect a volume-weighted calculation rule, incorporating verifiable prices from this channel into the terminal retail price assessment for both products.

On the industry news front, U.S. investment bank Goldman Sachs released a report noting that during this year's Mid-Autumn Festival, overall demand for Chinese baijiu remained cautious, with brand differentiation intensifying across the sector, while Kweichow Moutai continued to outperform its peers. The report highlighted that regional surveys indicated relatively stable consumption scenarios such as banquets, though business entertainment and gifting demand still faced pressure. Ultra-premium leading brands demonstrated strong resilience. Specifically, Kweichow Moutai outperformed peers across all regional markets, with Feitian Moutai wholesale prices trending upward. Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs pointed out that Wuliangye is actively working to reduce channel inventory, while Luzhou Laojiao continues to face notable market pressure.
