China Travel International Investment Hong Kong Limited (China Travel HK, 00308) released a positive profit alert, indicating it expects to record a profit attributable to shareholders of more than HK$80.00 million for the six months ended 30 June 2026. The guidance contrasts sharply with the HK$87.00 million loss reported for the same period in 2025, implying a minimum swing of HK$167.00 million in the Group’s bottom line.
Management attributed the anticipated turnaround to three factors:
1. Strategic portfolio reshaping: The Group completed the spin-off of its tourism property business on 22 December 2025 via distribution in specie, removing a persistently loss-making segment from its consolidated statements.
2. New growth engines: On 27 October 2025, the Group acquired Jilin Songhua Lake International Resorts Company Limited and China Travel (Beijing) Ice and Snow Sports Development Co., Ltd., businesses expected to contribute incremental revenue and earnings.
3. Operational execution: Management cited effective implementation of its corporate strategies as supporting a “significant improvement” in operating results.
The figures are based on unaudited consolidated management accounts and are subject to review by the Company’s auditors and audit committee. The interim results announcement is scheduled for publication on 31 August 2026.
Shareholders and potential investors are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the Company’s shares until the full interim results are released.
