During the launch event for BYD Company Limited's second-generation blade battery and flash-charging technology, the group's Chairman and President Wang Chuanfu delivered a speech. He highlighted that over 70% of China's oil consumption relies on imports, with a significant portion transported through the Strait of Hormuz and the Strait of Malacca. Furthermore, approximately 70% of the nation's oil is used in the transportation sector, reflecting the current reality of China's oil resource situation.

Wang Chuanfu emphasized that the present circumstances pose serious challenges to national energy security. He stated that China is a country with scarce oil resources but abundant electricity, making the transition from traditional fuel vehicles to new energy vehicles not a matter of choice, but an essential step for ensuring the country's energy security and long-term development.
