Iran is formulating a plan and related legislation to ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, according to a statement made by Ibrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, in a televised interview on April 7. Rezaei emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz will not return to its previous state.
Rezaei also noted that Iran's oil exports are currently proceeding normally, with production capacity even higher than before. Necessary measures have been taken to ensure the security of Kharg Island.
Kharg Island, located in the northwestern part of the Persian Gulf approximately 25 kilometers from the Iranian coast, measures about 6 kilometers long and 3 kilometers wide. It serves as Iran's largest crude oil export terminal, accounting for 90% of the country's oil exports.
