As the ninth China International Import Expo approaches, Qingpu District has entered the final sprint phase of its service and support work.

At a press briefing on October 28 regarding Qingpu District's service and support for the ninth CIIE, it was announced that the Qingpu trading delegation has registered 3,464 purchasing units and 28,901 professional visitors, exceeding the previous edition in scale. More than 20 buyers have expressed purchasing intentions, covering new materials, biomedicine, high-end equipment, and fashion consumption. Over 30 enterprises including Liwayway, Hugong Welding, Informa, and YTO International will participate through their overseas entities. Nearly 40 investment promotion, industry matchmaking, investment negotiation, and signing activities have been planned.

Dual Focus on Targeted Procurement and Investment Landing

Centering on "targeted matchmaking and effective procurement," Qingpu has established a Qingpu trading delegation headed by the district governor as team leader and the deputy district governor in charge as deputy team leader, strengthening organizational leadership and coordinating procurement work. At the same time, following the requirements of the Shanghai trading delegation, Qingpu focuses on key industries and critical sectors, taps into buyer potential, and continuously expands its procurement team. It collaborates with the "365 Exhibition and Trade Network" and various local authorities to conduct pre-exhibition supplier-buyer matchmaking activities, customize personalized procurement routes for enterprises, facilitate trade matchmaking, and continuously empower exhibiting companies.

In terms of investment landing, Qingpu has coordinated with the China International Import Expo Bureau and the National Exhibition and Convention Center to screen nearly 900 key exhibitors, identify 100 key target enterprises for matchmaking based on industry tracks, and form one plan per locality to drive the transformation of CIIE resources into landed projects. Qingpu is also promoting the functional upgrade of "6+365" year-round exhibition and trading platforms such as Greenland Global Commodity Trading Hub, leveraging the policy advantages of the Qingpu Comprehensive Bonded Zone, and promoting innovative businesses such as bonded storage and bonded micro-exhibitions. This year, Qingpu will for the first time partner with the CIIE Bureau to launch the ninth CIIE "Exhibition-City Linkage" Panlong Xintiandi event, innovatively planning a series of "inside venue plus outside venue" activities.

"Gathering in Qingpu" Captures Traffic to Boost Consumption

Focusing on the integration of agriculture, culture, commerce, tourism, sports, and exhibitions — the "six sectors" — Qingpu has adopted the theme "Gathering in Qingpu" to coordinate festivals, exhibitions, events, cultural tourism products, consumption linkages, and distinctive experiences, driving the conversion of exhibition visitor traffic into cultural tourism traffic and consumption growth. Before and after the CIIE, Qingpu will organize more than 20 special activities covering international competitions, cultural performances, ancient town tourism, rural festivals, and commercial district consumption. Six themed tour routes under "Gathering in Qingpu" will be launched, combined with "CIIE micro-vacations," linking Jiangnan ancient towns, distinctive villages, key commercial districts, and leisure resort resources. In terms of accommodation services, the district's cultural and tourism department has compiled a recommended list of 74 hotels with a total of 13,784 rooms, and 10 reception hotels will activate the "Huxiaoyou Tourism Service Center." From November 5 to 10, a CIIE micro-vacation bus route will operate, providing free shuttle services. In terms of consumption linkages, Qingpu will highlight the "Benefit Tour Qingpu 'Six Sectors' Integration CIIE Season" linked coupon package, centered on three distinctive consumption routes — Panlong Xintiandi, Qingpu Bailian Outlet, and Zhujiajiao Ancient Town — integrating merchant discounts, full-reduction offers, and gift privileges, along with CIIE-themed cultural and creative products.

Racing Events and Cross-Border E-Commerce Advance Together to Amplify Spillover Effects

During the CIIE period, the 2026 PWA Professional Hydrofoil Windsurfing Shanghai International Invitational and the 8th Shanghai Windsurfing Masters (Qingpu Station) will be held from November 7 to 11 at the Yuandang Lake waters of Daguanyuan in Jinze Town, Qingpu District. Centering on the theme "Come to Qingpu for Water Fun," Qingpu uses the racing event as a vehicle to drive the two-way convergence of sports traffic and CIIE visitor traffic, uses routes as a link to promote deep integration of event spectating and all-for-one tourism, and uses consumption as a lever to effectively convert event traffic into actual spending, incorporating this event into the "Benefit Tour Qingpu 'Six Sectors' Integration CIIE Season" activity system and linking nearly 80 merchants across the district with more than 130 consumption privileges.

The 2026 Yangtze River Delta Cross-Border E-Commerce Industry Investment Promotion Conference will be held on the third day of the CIIE. Activities will include the signing and unveiling of the international express business license service window landing in the Hongqiao "Cross-Border E-Commerce Plus Industrial Belt" Pioneer Zone, the signing of a memorandum on coordinated development among express associations in the Yangtze River Delta region, and the signing of the first batch of enterprises moving into Hongqiao cross-border e-commerce specialty buildings. In Baihe Town, transitioning from "growing strawberries" to "growing industries," as of the end of September this year, the Hongqiao "Cross-Border E-Commerce Plus Industrial Belt" Pioneer Zone has gathered nearly 600 cross-border e-commerce and related service enterprises, with cumulative cross-border trade declaration amounts reaching 16.9 billion yuan, making it the largest cross-border e-commerce industrial park in the city.
