Pork Prices Edge Up Slightly in National Wholesale Markets on May 20th

According to monitoring data, the "200 Index of Agricultural Product Wholesale Prices" stood at 114.14 on May 20th, a decrease of 0.23 points from the previous day. The wholesale price index for "Basket of Goods" products was 114.40, down 0.26 points from yesterday.

As of 14:00 today, the national average wholesale price for pork in agricultural product markets was 14.79 yuan per kilogram, representing a 0.6% increase compared to yesterday. Beef was priced at 66.65 yuan/kg, up 0.6%, while lamb reached 64.04 yuan/kg, a 0.5% rise. Egg prices increased by 0.4% to 9.33 yuan/kg. In contrast, the price for dressed chicken fell by 0.8% to 16.79 yuan/kg.

The average price for 28 key monitored vegetable varieties remained stable at 4.12 yuan/kg, unchanged from yesterday. The average price for six key fruit varieties was 7.76 yuan/kg, down 0.6% from the previous day.

For aquatic products, the price for crucian carp held steady at 20.13 yuan/kg. Carp prices saw a slight decrease of 0.2% to 14.99 yuan/kg, while silver carp prices dropped 1.5% to 9.93 yuan/kg. Large hairtail prices increased by 1.6% to 41.08 yuan/kg.

Among the 46 key varieties monitored in domestic fresh agricultural product wholesale markets today, the top five gainers compared to yesterday were scallions, spinach, Chinese cabbage, large hairtail, and bananas, with increases of 2.8%, 2.8%, 2.2%, 1.6%, and 1.4%, respectively. The top five decliners were pineapple, cauliflower, pumpkin, cabbage, and eggplant, with decreases of 2.7%, 2.3%, 2.1%, 1.7%, and 1.7%, respectively.
