Provincial Service Sector Value-Added Grows 5.4% in 2025

According to data from the Provincial Bureau of Statistics, the province's service sector achieved a total value-added of 2,938.3 billion yuan in 2025, representing a growth of 5.4% compared to the previous year.

The service sector's contribution to the provincial GDP reached 55.5%, marking an increase of 1.1 percentage points.

Within the sector, the province's transportation industry maintained stable operations.

The value-added of the transportation, storage, and postal services industry for the full year reached 303.1 billion yuan, growing by 5.6% and contributing 10.5% to the overall growth of the service sector.

It was noted that multimodal transport in the province experienced accelerated development, with operating revenue for large-scale multimodal transport and transport agency businesses growing by 10.7%.

The container throughput at Wuhu Port exceeded 1.8 million TEUs for the first time, while the China-Europe Railway Express (Hefei) operated 1,002 trips, an increase of 10.3%.

The province's information and software services sector also demonstrated rapid growth.

The value-added of the information transmission, software, and information technology services industry for the full year reached 159.6 billion yuan, growing by 6.7% and contributing 6.5% to the service sector's growth.

Operating revenue for large-scale enterprises in information transmission, software, and IT services grew by 7.2%, with internet and related services, along with software and IT services, growing by 21.4% and 7.8% respectively.

Furthermore, the tax contribution from the province's service sector improved.

Full-year tax revenue from the service sector amounted to 262.87 billion yuan, shifting from a decline of 1.4% the previous year to a growth of 0.6%.

Within this, tax revenue from scientific research and technical services, leasing and business services, and information transmission/software and IT services grew by 26.3%, 20.3%, and 7.4% respectively, collectively accounting for 42.5% of service sector tax revenue, an increase of 5 percentage points from the previous year.
