Shanghai FourSemi Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (FOURSEMI) expects to post an unaudited net loss of RMB64.50-69.50 million for the six months ended 30 June 2026, a widening from the RMB30.90 million loss recorded a year earlier.
The Board attributes the deeper deficit to three main factors: 1. One-off listing expenses covering intermediary fees and promotional activities. 2. Exchange losses stemming from the conversion of Hong Kong-dollar listing proceeds into Renminbi. 3. Higher staff costs after adding R&D, sales and management personnel to support business expansion.
On the revenue side, the global smartphone downturn curbed demand for low-to-mid-range models, prompting downstream customers to slow chip procurement. As a result, low-power audio revenue declined year on year. Although overall gross profit and margin improved, this gain could not offset the surge in operating expenses.
FOURSEMI pursued product diversification during the period. Automotive audio revenue rose by more than 30,000% year on year, aided by new engagements with leading new-energy vehicle makers. Haptic driver chip revenue climbed over 330%, with mass shipments to smartwatches, smart glasses, robotic dexterous hands and handheld gaming devices.
Management reports that cash reserves remain “relatively sound” and debt levels “manageable.” The company continues to invest in automotive and intelligent-sensing R&D to develop new growth engines, stating that existing liquidity is sufficient for ongoing operations.
The figures are based on unaudited management accounts; the full interim results are scheduled for release by the end of August 2026. Shareholders and potential investors are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the company’s securities.
