A recent financial disclosure by U.S. President Donald Trump reveals he made substantial purchases of stocks and bonds in major American companies during the first quarter of this year, with the total amount reaching tens of millions of dollars, and potentially more.
The filing submitted to the U.S. Office of Government Ethics spans over 100 pages and details a wide range of transactions. In the first quarter, Trump invested up to $5 million each in the securities of several companies, including NVIDIA, Oracle, Microsoft, Boeing, and Costco Wholesale.
It remains unclear how many of these transactions specifically involved equities. Unlike reports submitted by members of Congress, Trump is not required to specify the exact asset classes he traded.
The largest transaction occurred on February 10, when Trump sold his holdings in three technology companies: Microsoft, Meta Platforms, Inc., and Amazon.com, with the value ranging between $5 million and $25 million. He also sold shares in a Vanguard Group ETF worth at least $5 million in January.
