A consumer recently claimed on social media that an order for "Huazhi Rouhu Laundry Detergent" placed on Liby Group's official flagship store was subject to a "forced refund." According to an order screenshot provided by the consumer, the 10-jin pack of "Liby Huazhi Rouhu Laundry Detergent" was priced at 6.9 yuan, but "after payment, the store closed my order directly without any communication or notification, and also automatically issued a refund." From the consumer's perspective, this was a tactic by Liby to "attract traffic with low prices and then cancel orders upon purchase."
On social platforms, many other consumers reported similar experiences, sparking heated discussions among netizens. Some commented that "such a large store can't handle this," while others stated "I originally had a favorable impression of Liby, but doing business without basic credibility is unacceptable." Some questioned, "Why didn't they communicate with consumers?"
An investigation on January 23rd revealed that the pre-discount price for the 10-jin pack of Liby Huazhi Rouhu Deep Clean·Natural Laundry Detergent was 90.8 yuan, with over 50,000 purchases recorded. Customer service personnel for the store stated that the specific product price is "subject to the final amount shown on the order," and the previous order cancellations were due to an "erroneous price setting by the store, making shipment impossible."
On the same day, regarding the "forced refund" incident, a representative from Liby Group's service hotline explained that the event was caused by internal staff negligence, resulting in an incorrect price setting that led to a large volume of low-priced orders being unshippable. "We will prioritize processing refunds for consumers and also provide a 5 yuan cash red packet as compensation." The representative also stated that the company will subsequently strengthen price verification checks and initiate process upgrades to prevent such issues from recurring.
