PRU: UBS Group AG Lifts Voting Stake in Prudential plc to 5.15%

Prudential plc (PRU) disclosed on 1 April 2026 that UBS Group AG—operating through its Investment Bank & Global Wealth Management division—has increased its aggregate voting interest in the insurer to 5.15%, breaching the 5% disclosure threshold on 27 March 2026.

The updated holding represents 130.31 million voting rights, up from 128.85 million previously, translating into a 0.06-percentage-point rise versus the last notified level of 5.09%.

Breakdown of the new position 1. Direct equity stake: 127.51 million ordinary shares, equal to 5.04% of Prudential’s voting rights. 2. Exposure via financial instruments: 2.80 million voting rights, or 0.11%. • Depositary receipts and related recall rights account for 0.02%. • Options, swaps and other structured products contribute the remaining 0.09%.

UBS AG and several affiliated entities—including UBS Switzerland AG, UBS Bank (Canada), UBS Americas Holding LLC and UBS Securities LLC—are identified as controlled undertakings through which the voting rights are held.

The notification was completed in Zurich on 31 March 2026 and released to the Hong Kong and Singapore exchanges as an overseas regulatory announcement. Prudential’s board is chaired by Shriti Vadera, with Anil Wadhwani serving as Chief Executive Officer.
