South Korean defense firm Hanwha Aerospace announced on Tuesday that it has signed a contract worth 5.6 trillion won (approximately $4 billion) with a Polish arms procurement agency to supply the "Chunmoo" multiple launch rocket system to Poland.
The company stated in a press release that the Polish Armament Agency and a consortium comprising Hanwha Aerospace and Hanwha-WB Advanced Systems Company (HWB) signed the third-phase agreement on Monday in Warsaw, which involves providing CGR-080 guided missiles with an 80-kilometer range.
Hanwha-WB is a joint venture between Hanwha Aerospace and WB Electronics, a subsidiary of Poland's largest defense enterprise, the WB Group.
According to the contract, the "Chunmoo" CGR-080 missiles will be manufactured at a dedicated factory in Poland operated by Hanwha-WB, with deliveries scheduled to commence in 2030.
These missiles will serve as the core ammunition for Poland's "Homar-K" system, which is a localized variant of the Polish "Chunmoo" multiple launch rocket system.
