Dingdong Launches "Truly Safe Fish" System to Address Seafood Safety Concerns

Deep News11-19

On November 18, Dingdong (Cayman) Limited officially introduced its "Truly Safe Fish" system, emphasizing a business principle of "selling only trustworthy seafood." The initiative aims to establish a verifiable safety framework for what the industry considers a "high-risk category."

Xu Zhijian, Chief Merchandise Officer at Dingdong, stated, "The core objective of the Truly Safe Fish system is to make seafood safety manageable, verifiable, and trustworthy." To achieve this, Dingdong has developed a methodology centered on "traceable sourcing, 100-day zero residue detection, and a 7+1 quality control system," ensuring documented and verifiable safety at every critical stage of the supply chain.

Additionally, Dingdong announced plans to pilot a "Traceability System" in December, leveraging digital tools to visualize information across farming, testing, processing, and logistics. In the future, users will be able to access details such as the origin, farming methods, and inspection records of "Truly Safe Fish" directly via the app.
