Hassett Says He Would Keep Rates Steady or Cut Them If at the Fed

White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett stated in an interview, "If I were on the Federal Reserve right now, I would choose to keep interest rates unchanged or cut them, because supply-side momentum is very strong."

He noted that recent reports indicate inflation is declining.

Hassett added, "If I were to take any subsequent action, I would want to see more months like the ones we've just witnessed."
