Nanfang Communication’s 2025 ESG Report Highlights Aggressive Carbon-Cut Strategy, Zero-Violation Record, and Employee-Centric Policies

Nanfang Communication released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report, detailing advances in decarbonisation, supply-chain stewardship and workforce development across its mainland China production sites in Wujin and Jintan and its Hong Kong office. Key disclosures are summarised below.

Environment: • Carbon targets – The optical-cable manufacturer aims to cut greenhouse-gas (GHG) emission intensity by 80% and absolute emissions by 20% by 2030 from a 2018 baseline. Absolute GHG emissions already fell 28.20% to 8,238.91 tCO₂e in 2025 versus 2018, while intensity remained flat at 0.12 tCO₂e per RMB10,000 revenue. • Energy use – Electricity consumption totalled 14.67 million kWh, equal to 204.81 kWh per RMB10,000 revenue. Petrol and diesel usage reached 14,982.78 litres and 4,451.04 litres respectively. • Resource efficiency – Water use climbed to 38,297 m³ (0.53 m³ per RMB10,000 revenue); the group has installed solar panels at both plants and continues to push paperless workflows. • Waste management – Hazardous waste generation fell to 8.84 tonnes; non-hazardous waste was 55.29 tonnes. Disposal follows the “Waste Control Programme”, with hazardous materials handed to licensed contractors. • Certifications – Maintains ISO 14001:2015 environmental and ISO 50001:2018 energy-management accreditations and received five TLC carbon-footprint certificates covering key products.

Social: • Workforce – Headcount rose to 325 (56.31% male; 43.69% female). Employee turnover declined to 20.00%, down 4.75 pp year on year. • Health & safety – Zero work-related fatalities or lost-time injuries were recorded for the third consecutive year. ISO 45001:2018 certification underpins the occupational-health system, and regular fire-safety drills and medical check-ups are conducted. • Training – All employees received training, averaging 1.74 hours per person. • Community engagement – The “Nanfang Fund” scholarship programme and environmental-hygiene initiatives remained core outreach activities.

Governance: • Structure – ESG oversight sits with the board, supported by senior management, risk-control, compliance and audit departments. • Compliance – No material breaches of environmental, labour, product-safety or anti-corruption regulations were identified during 2025. • Integrity – All staff and suppliers sign anti-bribery undertakings; dedicated whistle-blowing channels ensure confidentiality and prompt investigations.

Supply chain: • Vendor base – 43 qualified suppliers, all located in China, are vetted through ISO 9001:2015-aligned assessments. Monthly and annual performance reviews cover quality, delivery, service and price. • Green procurement – A detailed code governs environmental, labour and ethics requirements, including strict chemical-substance thresholds and prohibitions.

Awards & recognitions: • “Top 10 Most Competitive Optic Fibre Cable Corporate in China 2024”; Changzhou “Industrial Three-Star Enterprise”; National “Small Giant” status for Jiangsu Nanfang subsidiary. • Additional credentials include ISO/IEC 27001:2022 information-security, ISO 10012:2003 measurement-management and CNAS laboratory accreditation.

Materiality focus: Customer health & safety, satisfaction, supply-chain responsibility and data privacy ranked as the six most material ESG issues for stakeholders.

Nanfang Communication concluded the year with enhanced environmental credentials, a stable workforce, zero regulatory violations and continued progress toward its 2030 decarbonisation goals.
