CHINA LIFE (H-share code: 02628) has scheduled its First Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of 2026 for 20 August 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in Beijing’s China Life Plaza. The agenda comprises two ordinary resolutions that will shape the insurer’s medium-term strategy and its cross-selling framework with its property and casualty (P&C) affiliate.
1. 15th Five-Year Development Plan • Shareholders will consider and vote on the “Outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan” for the Company’s development. • The document is expected to set strategic priorities and performance targets for the 2026-2030 period, a critical roadmap as CHINA LIFE navigates changing demographics, technology upgrades and evolving regulatory requirements.
2. Renewal of Agency Agreement with China Life P&C • The EGM will also decide on renewing the “Agreement for Package Transactions in relation to the Entrustment of the Company as an Agent to Sell Property and Casualty Insurance Products” with China Life Property and Casualty Insurance Company Limited. • Renewal would extend CHINA LIFE’s role as an agent for distributing P&C products, supporting integrated financial-services cross-selling and reinforcing group synergies.
Voting Mechanics • Holders of H shares may appoint the EGM chairman or another proxy to vote on their behalf. • Completed proxy forms and relevant authorization documents must reach Computershare Hong Kong Investor Services by 10:00 a.m. on 19 August 2026—24 hours before the meeting. • Shareholders can vote “For,” “Against” or “Abstain” on each resolution; unmarked items confer discretionary voting power to the appointed proxy.
Meeting Details • Date & Time: Thursday, 20 August 2026, 10:00 a.m. • Venue: Multi-function Hall, 2/F, Block A, China Life Plaza, 16 Financial Street, Xicheng District, Beijing, China.
The EGM outcomes will determine CHINA LIFE’s strategic trajectory for the next five years and solidify its collaboration framework with China Life P&C in the distribution of general insurance products.
