Three Peking University Economists Honored in 2025 Top Ten Rankings

On February 11, 2026, SINA Corp's financial division, in collaboration with the Chief Economist Forum and the New Economist Think Tank, officially announced the winners of the 2025 economics awards series. Huang Yiping, Liu Guoen, and Zhang Junnin from the National School of Development at Peking University were each honored on three major annual lists: "Top Ten Macro-Economists of 2025," "Top Ten Influential Economists of 2025," and "Top Ten Opinion Leaders of 2025."

Huang Yiping, Dean of the National School of Development and the South-South Cooperation and Development Institute at Peking University, was selected as one of the "Top Ten Macro-Economists of 2025."

Liu Guoen, Director of the Institute for Global Health and Development and a professor at the National School of Development, Peking University, was recognized as one of the "Top Ten Influential Economists of 2025."

Zhang Junnin, a tenured Associate Professor of Economics at the National School of Development, Peking University, was named one of the "Top Ten Opinion Leaders of 2025."

The selection process involved the judging committee evaluating candidates based on five dimensions: professionalism, influence, innovation, foresight, and activity level. The final results were determined through panel voting and consideration of metrics such as research output and online visibility.
