Beijing Unveils Two Lists to Guide AI Adoption Across Schools and Universities

Deep News10-29 20:50

On October 29, at the 2026 Beijing AI-Empowered Basic Education Practice and Innovation Seminar, Beijing released lists of typical AI application scenarios and pioneering experimental scenarios for "AI + Education."

The "two lists" offer actionable plans for the city's primary, secondary, and tertiary schools to promote artificial intelligence, and point the way toward exploring new forms of future education in the digital-intelligence era.

The typical application scenario list contains six items: homework management and "inquiry-guided" intelligent tutoring; language learning; classroom teaching evaluation; physical education and health education; collaborative application of teaching agents; and digital-intelligent practical teaching and virtual simulation training.

The list provides detailed descriptions of each scenario along with implementation guidelines and demonstration cases. For example, the language learning scenario uses generative AI and mixed reality technologies to build an immersive language learning environment, conduct intelligent speaking and listening training, pronunciation correction, grammar checking, and simulated dialogue, forming a "practice-test-evaluate-improve" closed loop.

It is equipped with real-time translation and multilingual learning resources to promote the internalization of language knowledge and the improvement of language application ability, enhancing personalized language learning outcomes.

This scenario focuses on providing students with large-scale, personalized, and regular oral practice, achieving integrated "learning, practice, testing, evaluation, and improvement" to boost language learning efficiency.

The pioneering experimental scenario list is more exploratory and forward-looking. A total of eight items were released: multi-role educational agent collaborative research; embodied perception + digital twin experimental inquiry; AI-empowered interdisciplinary inquiry and ubiquitous spatiotemporal autonomous learning; multimodal perception + personalized nutritional meals and integrated physical health closed-loop management; AI-empowered individualized education plans; higher education flexible credit system + industry-education integration; campus AI usage ethics and learning integrity governance; and pre-entry assessment and product access governance for basic education large models in schools.

In the future, these two categories of lists will be dynamically adjusted according to the actual development of education in Beijing.
