On January 23, the "Xiaomao iMoutai" WeChat official account posted an article stating that after two days of close collaboration across the entire supply chain, the misprint on the outer box of the 53% vol 500ml Kweichow Moutai Co.,Ltd. (Bingwu Year of the Horse) Classic Edition has been corrected, and production resumed today—January 23, 2026.

On January 21, news of a printing error on the 53% vol 500ml Kweichow Moutai Co.,Ltd. (Bingwu Year of the Horse) Classic Edition sparked widespread attention. Netizens pointed out that in the constellation diagram printed on the Year of the Horse Moutai's outer packaging, the character "昴" in "昴宿" (The Hairy Head constellation) was misprinted, incorrectly written as the visually similar character "昂". That same evening, the "Xiaomao iMoutai" WeChat official account posted an article acknowledging that, upon immediate verification, it was confirmed that a single stroke "丿" was indeed missing, changing the character from "昴" to "昂". The company had immediately contacted the supply chain to work overtime on making the corrections. Consumers who had already received their product were advised that if they wished to exchange it, they could visit their nearest Moutai flagship store for a replacement. Additionally, Moutai proposed designing a special tool to allow consumers to add the missing stroke "丿" themselves, and promised to notify everyone promptly if this solution proved feasible.
