Hong Kong Stocks Open Higher, GAC Group Jumps 15%; Xiaomi Gains 2%; Meituan Sinks 5%

On December 2, 2024, the Hong Kong stock market opened slightly higher. The Hang Seng Index rose 0.10%, the National Enterprise Index rose 0.01%, the Hang Seng Technology Index rose 0.05%, and the Red Chip Index rose 0.09%.

In terms of industry concepts, property management stocks, tobacco stocks, Apple concept stocks, and aluminum stocks showed mixed performances.

Among individual stocks, BYD Electronic rose 2.75%. Xiaomi rose 1.80%. XPeng rose 1.40%, driven by the news that the company delivered 30,895 new cars in November, a year-on-year increase of 54%.

GAC Group jumped 14.8%, after signing strategic partnership with Huawei to launch new high-end intelligent car brand.
