On April 15, the ninth "Pear Charm Hehuang, Flowers Blooming in Ledu" cultural event was held as scheduled in Ledu District, Haidong City. This marks one of several cultural and tourism activities organized by Haidong this year as part of the "Clear Yellow River" ecological tourism belt development initiative. Infrastructure improvements are progressing simultaneously, with premium travel routes being linked together like a string of pearls. A number of popular social media check-in spots have attracted significant visitor traffic this spring, reinforcing the appeal of the "Weekend Getaway to Haidong" branding. The spring tourism market is showing strong signs of recovery.
The coordinated development of the "Clear Yellow River" ecological tourism belt is a key focus for Haidong City during 2026 and the 15th Five-Year Plan period. In collaboration with Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, efforts are being made to jointly promote shared branding, interconnected travel routes, integrated ticketing, cooperative marketing, and mutual tourist exchanges. The establishment of the Haidong Tourism Industry Promotion Association has filled a gap in industry platforms.
Meanwhile, key projects along the Yellow River are accelerating. Minhe Hui and Tu Autonomous County has completed tourism-oriented design plans for the Machangyuan service area, aiming to build a tourism brand centered on the concept "Start Your Qinghai-Tibet Journey from Minhe." Xunhua Salar Autonomous County is speeding up upgrades to the Mengda Tianchi scenic area and promoting the construction of a floating dock on the Yellow River. Hualong Hui Autonomous County is developing geological study programs in Ahetan Village, Gandu Town, and creating a high-altitude wellness and acclimatization base.
A total of 12.255 million yuan in provincial-level cultural and tourism special funds has been secured to support eight tourism enterprises. Engagement with leading companies is underway to promote projects such as the Lajia National Archaeological Site Park rural complex and the conservation and tourism development of the Qinghai Cotton Textile Factory industrial heritage site. Efforts are also being made to improve tourism facilities along the Yellow River highway, including restrooms and homestays, as part of building a "fast access, slow travel" service system.
