To effectively standardize the order of water, electricity, and gas metering and billing, the Market Supervision Administration of Yulin City, Guangxi, has recently implemented multiple measures to strengthen regulation, conduct inspections, and promote policy awareness in residential areas, aiming to address public concerns over metering and billing issues. During the campaign, regulatory and enforcement personnel from the administration conducted on-site visits and inspections in various residential communities, focusing on irregularities in water and electricity metering management in public areas managed by property companies. By engaging directly with residents, the authorities actively listened to public feedback, collected opinions and complaints regarding metering usage and fee collection, and resolved disputes related to metering and billing. In addition, educational campaigns on metering and pricing were organized within communities, where detailed explanations were provided on the proper use of metering devices, relevant laws and regulations, and beneficial policies, ensuring that knowledge about metering and billing reaches every household and enhancing public satisfaction. To further strengthen regulatory responsibilities and consolidate efforts, on May 13, the Yulin Market Supervision Administration held a special symposium on residential water, electricity, and gas metering regulation, inviting representatives from water, electricity, and gas supply companies. The meeting reviewed the progress of inspections and rectifications in public areas of residential communities and outlined specific arrangements to address irregularities in property-managed water and electricity metering. It emphasized the need for continued efforts to tackle persistent issues such as inaccurate metering and chaotic billing practices, consolidating achievements and improving the effectiveness of the campaign. During the symposium, utility companies discussed challenges in daily metering supervision, including overdue replacement of metering devices, and collaboratively developed targeted solutions. These initiatives have further urged utility companies to fulfill their operational responsibilities, improve metering management systems, and standardize daily billing practices. Moving forward, the Yulin Market Supervision Administration will continue to focus on key areas of public pricing, conduct regular inspections and regulatory actions, strictly regulate billing practices in the water, electricity, and gas sectors, safeguard consumer rights, and maintain a stable and orderly market environment.
