A gas station in Hebei named "Zhongyuan Shihua" has drawn attention for its striking resemblance to the state-owned giant "Sinopec," with logos so similar that customers only realized the difference after refueling. The incident has prompted local authorities to investigate whether the station is attempting to benefit from brand confusion. According to reports, the station claims its name was officially approved. Public records show the station was established in August 2010 with registered capital of 200,000 yuan and is wholly owned by an individual named Yang. Notably, the same owner was previously linked to a Sinopec-branded station in Hebei, which has since been deregistered.
