Azerbaijan Targets 100,000 Tonnes of Annual Aluminium Output by 2030

Azerbaijan intends to raise its annual aluminium production to 100,000 tonnes by the end of 2030, according to President Ilham Aliyev, who outlined the goal as part of a new national programme focused on boosting the mining and metallurgy sectors, along with the construction of several new plants.

Speaking at an industry conference on Tuesday, Aliyev noted that the country had previously received proposals from foreign partners to develop aluminium production, but those initiatives did not come to fruition. As a result, Azerbaijan will now pursue self-reliant development of the sector, adopting mechanisms designed to generate benefits for the domestic economy.
