On the evening of July 9th, the Y913 passenger train departed from Urumqi Station, carrying tourists from Guangdong, Jiangxi, and other regions on an 11-day in-depth tour of both northern and southern Xinjiang. This marks the 50th tourist-dedicated train service launched by the Xinjiang railway department this year.
This special train service employs a "train + coach" travel model, linking over ten scenic spots across northern and southern Xinjiang. It features multi-category soft sleeper compartments and is equipped with leisure facilities such as card tables and massage chairs, offering passengers a diverse travel experience.
Since the beginning of the year, the Xinjiang railway department has leveraged the region's unique natural landscapes and cultural resources to launch the new "New Oriental Education & Technology Express" branded tourist trains. These journeys integrate experiences like intangible cultural heritage activities and lectures on Xinjiang's history and culture, deepening the convergence of various industries with cultural tourism.
It is reported that, to date, the Xinjiang railway department has hosted over 16,000 domestic and international tourists. The plan for this year is to operate a total of one hundred tourist train services. This includes five inter-provincial tourist trains. During the summer travel period, 28 tourist trains are scheduled, comprising four "New Oriental Education & Technology Express" services and three "Tianshan" services.
