COMEC Elects Weng Hongbing as Board Chairman and Legal Representative; General Manager Post Vacated

CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering (Group) Company Limited (COMEC) announced that the twenty-second meeting of its eleventh Board session on 25 August 2026 elected Executive Director Weng Hongbing as Chairman of the Board and head of the strategy committee, effective immediately through the end of the current Board term. In line with Article 6 of the Articles of Association, Weng simultaneously becomes the company’s legal representative; related corporate registration changes will follow statutory procedures.

Weng has a service contract in place, and remuneration will be set according to the company’s Regulations on the Remuneration Management for Directors and Senior Management.

Concurrent with the new appointments, Weng tendered his resignation as General Manager on 25 August 2026 due to the role realignment. The resignation took effect upon delivery to the Board, and a by-election for the general manager position will be conducted under statutory procedures. Weng confirmed no disagreements with the Board and no additional matters requiring shareholder attention.

After these changes, COMEC’s Board consists of ten directors: Executive Director Weng Hongbing; Non-executive Directors Gu Yuan, Yin Lu, Ren Kaijiang, Cheng Bolin and Nie Lijun; and Independent Non-executive Directors Lin Bin, Nie Wei, Li Zhijian and Xie Xin.
