The fixed asset investment growth rate has secured the top position among sub-provincial level cities. Focusing on strengthening connectivity, the city is leveraging major infrastructure projects to weave a dense "interconnected network" for urban development. Chengdu is accelerating the construction of the "Five Centers and Five Hubs," continuously increasing infrastructure investment, and steadily enhancing its interconnectivity levels. The Chengdu-Deyang and Chengdu-Meishan municipal (suburban) railway lines are pushing forward at full speed towards completion. The first phase of Line 10 Phase III, Line 13 Phase I, Line 17 Phase II, and Line 30 Phase I are all scheduled to commence operations successively in 2025. Upon completion, the total operational mileage of the rail transit network will exceed 750 kilometers, solidifying its large-scale network ranking among the top nationwide. Railway projects such as the Chengdu section of the Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line Railway and the section from Tianfu to Chaoyanghu integrating the Sichuan-Tibet Railway into the Chengdu hub are accelerating their pace. The construction of the supporting comprehensive transportation hub for Tianfu Station is progressing steadily, continuously strengthening the functionality of the comprehensive transport hub. A crisscrossing network of rail lines and highways continues to expand the city's development space.
Charting a new course, the city is solidifying the "hard support" for the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan period through the strategic reserve of major projects. Currently, the blueprint for the 15th Five-Year Plan is being drawn, and a new journey of development is fully underway. Focusing on aligning with the implementation of major national strategies and the direction of policy support, Chengdu is continuously strengthening its project planning and reserve mechanism. It conducts specialized training across different industries and sectors, establishing tiered project databases, maintaining a rolling reserve, and maturing projects in batches. Concentrating on key areas and critical links such as advanced manufacturing, livelihood security, new infrastructure, and ecological environmental protection, the city has planned and reserved a large number of major projects.
These major projects are designed not only to address current shortcomings and weaknesses, precisely targeting urgent public needs and vulnerable areas in urban development, but also to plan for the long-term layout and enhance future potential by proactively aligning with the national strategic emerging industries layout. Chengdu will persistently drive the transformation of reserved projects from "paper plans" to "physical reality," converting them into tangible development outcomes as quickly as possible. The aim is to ensure that each project becomes a "solid fulcrum" supporting a successful start to the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
